‘Soft Stations’ is a slow, no experience required movement class that emphasizes the importance of turning inwards to source deep feeling. We move gently into and through simple structural forms, resting in some places, rocking in others, with the intention of aligning our mind/body/spirit, and moving into energetic flow. In this flow state, we aim to find transcendent closeness with oneself and expand our understanding of what the body is capable of.

This class meets at the intersection of my desire to facilitate dance spaces that align with my philosophy that dance is not something that is learned, but something that any body has access to at all times. In this, I open the space to any person curious about movement and expansivity, using my own personal practice as a toolbox and archive to reference.

The nature of this class holds space for flexibility and listening. Thus, ‘Soft Stations’ can be adapted for a plethora of class settings / types. It can be taught both exclusively to non-dancers, and exclusively to folks identifying as professional dancers and movers. In dance settings, it can be identified an improvisation class with an emphasis on somatics, imagination, and world building.

More opportunities to engage with ‘Soft Stations’ are on the way.
